'How I Paint' Series: Fyreslayers, Auric Hearthguard

Another unit for the fyreslayers, this time the Auric Hearthguard. If you have seen any of the previous painting series on fyreslayers, you will see that the basics are all very similar, but because of the weapons on these guys I thought i would do a separate article on how to paint these so...

Here is 'How I Paint' them.

As always, I undercoat the models in Corax White, I then base coated the skin with Barbarian Flesh from Game Colour and airbrushed down from the top with Skin Tone, Vallejo Model Air range. I finished the skin by washing it with a 50:50 mix of Reikland Fleshshade and Lahmian Medium.

I moved onto the hair and beard, I base coated by applying 2 thin coats of Troll Slayer Orange and then washed it with Fugean Orange.

I then drybrushed with Fire Dragon Bright

I followed this by painting the blue loin cloths using the same blue as previous, Electric Blue from Vallejo, I washed this with Drakenhoff Nightshade and highlighted with Temple Guard Blue.

I painted the weapon handles and belts using Abbadon Black.

I then based the weapons and helmets with Leadbelcher, shaded them with Nuln Oil.

Overall Shot.

I used Retributor Gold to base the gold details.

Front and Black View.

I washed the gold using Reikland Fleshshade then highlighted all the metal details using Stormhost Silver.

This is the finished model, obviously bases still need doing but I will be doing all the bases at the same time. Hope you find this paint guide useful! These were great fun to paint.
